Banco Davivienda will acquire assets in Costa Rica, El Salvador and Honduras

Davivienda turns to Consortium for HSBC buy

Three offices from the Consortium - Centro America Abogados network are acting as counsel to Banco Davivienda, Colombia’s third largest bank, in its US$801 million takeover of HSBC’s assets in Costa Rica, El Salvador and Honduras.

Linklaters and Hughes Hubbard land HSBC’s asset sale

Linklaters has been hired by HSBC for the US$801 million sale of its Central American assets to Colombia’s Banco Davivienda, which is taking counsel in the US from Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP.

IBA encourages young lawyer participation

This year, the IBA has launched two competitions directed at young lawyers, which will enable them to win a grant to attend the biannual meeting of the IBA’s Latin American Regional Forum (LARF), taking place in Bogotá, Colombia from 14 to 16 March.
