Sáenz & Asociados is a law firm providing professional services as a counselling office as well as an executor in legal-financial matters, and offers consulting services on a permanent basis to national and international corporations.

Sáenz & Asociados was founded as a law firm in 1979 by brothers Humberto Sáenz Cevallos and Mario Enrique Sáenz.

The firm specialises in providing legal-financial consultancy to different national and international enterprises in areas related to commercial law, banking law, international negotiations on matters such as franchising contractions, licences, representation and distribution agencies, etc, mergers and acquisitions, public and private bids, intellectual property, administrative law, taxation, investment and international trade. The firm has developed a tremendous experience in telecommunications as well as in arbitration and litigation. The firm is recognised for having unique experience in arbitration in El Salvador and Central America; it has participated in many local arbitrations in El Salvador, Guatemala and Nicaragua, and many international arbitration processes before the AAA, ICC and CENAC.

The firm maintains excellent relations with both government departments and private sector firms, which facilitates the achievement of our objectives and, more importantly, those of our clients. Sáenz & Asociados works closely with its clients, concerned with all their practical matters, and analysing their legal problems in a commercial and financial context.

Members of Sáenz & Asociados have accumulated vast experience in the institutional and corporate legal consultant areas, with some being or having been on the boards of directors of several local enterprises, banks, financiers and government institutions. Sáenz & Asociados has actively participated in several, locally important, litigious matters in judicial, administrative and arbitration settlements. Some of its members have been part of the judicial organ, occupying important positions in the constitutional section of the Salvadorean Supreme Court of Justice. They have also been justices in the judicial courts, including justice in the Contentious Administrative section in the Supreme Court of Justice. Other members are presently attorneys of important banking institutions, and have been accredited as arbitrators by the Salvadorean Chamber of Commerce.

Sáenz & Asociados is a co-founder of the alliance of law firms known as Grupo Jurídico Centroamericano (Central American Judicial Group). Formally launched in Mexico City in 1997, the alliance includes law firms from Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. The general goal sought by the alliance is to offer the clients of the different law firms within the group an organisation that permits them to have qualified law firms in the represented countries able to satisfy the need for legal services. The organisation permits clients to maintain a coordinated approach and work with legal consultants abroad through a law firm in its own country.
