Professional Notice

Santamarina y Steta was founded in 1947 and maintains offices in Mexico City, Monterrey and Tijuana, Mexico. This is one of the few full-service law firms in Mexico. The firm is constituted of 25 partners who practise in different legal areas, supported by more than 70 attorneys fully devoted to the practice of law. All such attorneys have a law degree from Mexican universities and are licensed to practise law throughout the country. A number of them have done postgraduate work in the United States and Europe and have participated in exchange programmes with foreign law firms. In addition to partners and associates, the firm maintains more than 40 law students working part-time in basic legal matters, always under the supervision of a partner or a senior associate, as well as other support staff available for allocation as required in each assignment.

In addition to general corporate practice, Santamarina y Steta has specialised departments in the following areas: aeronautics and airports, antitrust/competition law, banking and finance, commercial arbitration, constitutional, administrative and tax litigation, consumer’s protection, corporate and commercial, energy and gas, environmental, estate planning, foreign investment, government procurement, health, immigration, insurance, intellectual property, international trade and antidumping, internet and e-commerce, labour and employment, licensing, distribution and franchising, litigation, mergers and acquisitions, project finance and infrastructure, real estate, regulatory, restructurings, workouts and insolvency, securities, social security, taxation, telecommunications, and tourism.
