Bermudez Nevett Mezquita López (BNML) is a corporate law firm serving local and multinational companies doing business in Venezuela, with expertise in international transactions, taxation, mergers and acquisitions, antitrust law, public sector contracts and conflict resolution.

The firm’s clients include banking and financial institutions, listed companies, consumer goods and services companies, engineering and construction firms, as well as leading companies serving the oil, petrochemical and power industries.

The firm was founded in 1992 by Carlos Nevett and Pedro Mezquita. Manuel López and José Rafael Bermúdez joined the firm as partners in 1996 and 2006, respectively, each bringing a wealth of experience from recognised law firms with international practices. Alejandra Cerviño became partner in 2008. Before joining BNML as an associate, Alejandra worked with international law firms based in Caracas and London.

BNML’s lawyers have wide international experience and hold advanced degrees from top law schools including Harvard University, New York University, London School of Economics and the Universidad Central de Venezuela. Some are qualified to practise in jurisdictions other than Venezuela (New York and Spain) and all are at least bilingual (Spanish/English).
