Three young entrepreneurs decided, in 1981, to establish an efficient and modern law firm in the Republic of Panama. This is how Brett Patton, Carlos Raúl Moreno and Ebrahim Asvat joined their efforts to accomplish their common goals, which in turn gave birth to the successful reputation that the firm maintains not only in Panama, but in other countries where the firm has an important presence.

The firm is comprised of 21 attorneys and more than 80 employees. Our staff of lawyers has successfully achieved graduate, postgraduate, masters and doctorate degrees in well-recognised universities such as Duke University, Tulane University, Harvard University, Boston University, University of Pennsylvania, Cardiff University and Fordham University, among others.

The firm strongly believes in the constant update and international projection of its lawyers and personnel, promoting their participation in local and international conferences and seminars. Our lawyers have also participated in the drafting of laws, thus contributing with the legislative work of our country.

Patton, Moreno & Asvat has 30 years of experience in the legal sector, providing services of the highest quality and committing to its clients’ needs around the world.

The head office of the practice is situated at the heart of the business centre in Panama City, while the European office, which was opened in 1986, is located in Old Bond Street in London’s West End.

In 1988, an affiliated office was established in Tortola in the British Virgin Islands under the company name of Patton, Moreno & Asvat (BVI) Ltd.

In 1994, an affiliated office was established in Nassau, The Bahamas under the company name of Patton, Moreno & Asvat (Bahamas) Ltd.

In 2002, an office was established in Montevideo, Uruguay under the company name of Patton, Moreno & Asvat (South America), SA.

In 2008, an office was established in Hong Kong, under the company name of PMA Global Limited.

The firm’s areas of practice include corporate, maritime financing, registration and litigation, contracts and commercial transactions, real estate, public procurement, telecommunications, energy, M&A, intellectual property, banking law, aeronautical law, among others.

Our affiliates include: ACE Funds Services Inc, based in the British Virgin Islands, engaged in investment funds advisory services; Assets Trust & Corporate Services, which provides local and offshore fiduciary services, tax planning and structuring and back-office services; PMA Global Limited, provides corporate services to the international community from our office in Hong Kong; and HPA Lawyers, our own law firm in the BVI.
