A regional solution?

With DR-CAFTA a comparative whisker away from coming into force across Central America, a new market of 40 million people is about to come into being in Latin America.Some companies and their law firms now have a clearly regional vision, and are working fluidly across borders. More strategic investments can be made, in the hope that economies of scale catapult Central America up the rankings as a destination for foreign investment.But in a region of such clear political and economic differences, how real is this integration? We convened two roundtables, one of the region’s law firm managing partners, and one of regional general counsel, to tell us.As part of our regular spotlight series, we also look at Costa Rica, where a building boom has transformed the country’s legal market.
