French retailer Casino Guichard Perrachon initially hired a raft of local and international counsel to advise it in the Venezuelan government's takeover of an 80 per cent stake in its Venezuelan assets, with Weil Gotshal & Manges in Paris and Macleod Dixon SC in Caracas leading the process.
