Panama is not a ‘fiscal paradise’, says Martinelli

Less than two weeks after French President Nicolas Sarkozy descibed the country as a tax haven, Panama's President Ricardo Martinelli told an audience in London that the country's rapid economic growth was achieved by showing the world the country is no longer “a fiscal paradise” and convincing those used to doing "whatever they pleased" they had to pay taxes.
