Ad hoc member of the Drafting Committee of Panama’s Code of Maritime Procedure in 1982 and in 1986 (amendments); delegate to the United Nation’s Conference on Conditions for Registration of Ships from 1984 to 1985; participant Committee Bareboat Charter Registry International Chamber of Commerce, Commission of Sea Transport, 1987; president of Panama’s Maritime Law Association 1989 to 1990; member of the legal committees of presidential commissions that prepared constitutional amendments (Title XIV) on the Panama Canal and the Panama Canal Authority Organic Law, from 1992 to 1997. He also was lecturer on ship finance, maritime graduate program at Santa María La Antigua University in 1994. He was member of the board of directors of Interlaw, an international association of independent law firms, from 1999 to 2005. Languages: Spanish and English.
