Jaime Carey

Carey y Cía’s managing partner and co-head of the firm’s tax group. He also specialises in the areas of corporate law, M&A, banking and finance.

Mr Carey is member of the board of Austin International, MetLife Chile and Evercrisp (Frito Lay Chile). He is also a member of the Chilean Bar Association and of the International Bar Association (council member of the legal practice division and council liasion officer for the corporate and tax sections). Before joining Carey y Cía he served as trainee at Steel, Hector & Davis, Miami (1979).

Mr Carey studied law at Universidad Católica and was admitted to the Bar in 1979. He attended ICADE and Universidad de Deusto, Spain (from 1972 to 1975). He was a semi-finalist in the Philip C Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in Washington, DC (1978). Additionally, he attended the Program of Instruction for Lawyers at Harvard Law School (1986).
