As Ferrere’s managing partner, Andrés Cerisola combines professional team leadership with a very hands-on attention to clients. He gets involved in complex cases that require extensive strategy design, both transactions and disputes. His main areas of practice are foreign investment, regulated industries, and dispute resolution.
Andrés Cerisola holds a Udelar JD, a Harvard LLM, and studied European regulation at the University of Brussels (ULB/VUB). He is the director of the Institute of Law at the largest Uruguayan private university (Universidad ORT) and a tenured scholar of the National Academy of Economics. Cerisola is Uruguay’s representative for Harvard Alumni Association and a board member at several NGOs, including the Endeavor Foundation (entrepreneurship) and Un Techo Para Mi País (housing for the bottom of the pyramid).
He authored Business Law (third edition) and Telecommunications in a Competitive World, and co-authored Administrative Regulation and Legal Institutions. He speaks fluent Spanish, English and Portuguese.
