Sergio J Galvis

Sergio Galvis, head of Sullivan & Cromwell’s Latin America practice, has over 25 years, experience advising parties from more than 25 countries in Latin America, Europe and Asia.  In 2008, he was named by The National Law Journal as one of “The 50 Most Influential Minority Lawyers in America” and by Hispanic Business magazine as one of “The 100 Most Influential U.S. Hispanics.”  Mr Galvis is a three-time recipient of the Burton Award for Legal Achievement including for his article on the issues,  challenges and requirements Latin American companies face in international M&A. He was among the eminent practitioners convened by a G-10 Working Group in 2002 to help develop collective action clauses for sovereign debt financings and was involved in their rollout throughout Latin America. Mr Galvis was born in Colombia and is fluent in Spanish.
