Sérgio Varella Bruna has significant experience in Brazilian competition law, representing clients in some of the major merger filings and antitrust infringement cases in the Brazilian jurisdiction. Sergio is also an expert in regulatory matters and holds an LL.M and a doctorate degrees from the Law School of the University of São Paulo. He is the author of two books and several publications in his field of activities. Sérgio is a frequent speaker in seminars throughout the country, and is currently Chair of the Board of IBRAC (Instituto Brasileiro de Estudos de Concorrência, Consumo e Comércio Internacional), which is the most representative association of competition/antitrust counsels and economists in Brazil. He was President of the same institute from 2005 to 2007.
