Pablo Sorj is a partner at Mattos Filho and concentrates his practice in project development and finance and infrastructure-related transactions. Pablo has worked for both sponsors and lenders in many cross-border structured and project finance transactions across different industries, including energy, ports, telecom and mining. Pablo advised sponsors of the thermoelectric power plant of Pecém, of an energy capacity of 720MW, which was awarded “2009 Latin America Power Project Finance of the Year” by Project Finance Magazine and “2009 Project Finance of the Year” by International Financial Law Review.
Pablo was nominated by Chambers and Partners Global 2011, IFLR 1000 (2011 and 2012 edition), Chambers and Partners Latin America 2012, Latin Lawyer 250 (2011 edition) and Euromoney`s Guide to the World’s Leading Project Finance Lawyers, as one of the Brazilian leading lawyers in Project Finance.
Pablo holds a law degree from the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-RJ), obtained an executive MBA degree from the Brazilian Capital Markets Institute (IBMEC-RJ) and has received his LL.M. degree from Stanford Law School. Pablo has also worked at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, New York.
