In 2005 and 2006, he worked as an international associate with Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, New York. He is professor of Civil Law at the Universidad de los Andes School of Law and has acted as professor of Introduction to Law at the Universidad del Desarrollo School of Business and Economics (2001) and assistant professor of Civil Law at the Universidad de Valparaíso School of Law (1996-1998).
Mr Acuña studied law at the Universidad de Valparaíso, where he was recognised as Best Bachelor (1996) and Best Student in Civil and Commercial Law and in Procedural Law. In 1999, he was admitted to the Bar. In 2000, he obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) at the University of Southampton, United Kingdom.
