Senior partner of Carey y Cía. His practice focuses on project finance, arbitration and international banking and M&A.
Mr Carey is a non-executive chairman and member of the board of several publicly traded corporations, including Lafarge Chile SA, Danone Chile and the Chile Moneda Fund. He is also a member of the National Television Review Board (CNTV) - to which he was appointed by the president of Chile with the unanimous approval of the Senate. Additionally, he is a conciliator of the Center for the Settlement of International Investment Disputes (ICSID) in Washington, DC, designated by the Chilean government (between 2005 and 2011).
Mr Carey attended Universidad Católica School of Law, where he graduated as first in his class in 1965, having won the Tocornal, Montenegro and Gutiérrez Alliende awards. He was a Fulbright scholar at the New York University Law School, from which he received a Masters in Comparative Jurisprudence.
