Partner of Carey y Cía and head of its IP group. He specialises on IP litigation, licensing, franchising, electronic commerce and Pharma Regulatory issues. Vice president of the Chilean Domain Name’s commission and of the legal normative group advising Chile’s government in law projects to adopt the country’s digital agenda. Mr Carey is panellist for domain name disputes under WIPO and Nic Chile. He was elected twice as the Intellectual Property Constituency’s ICANN Names Council Representative and served for two periods as a member of INTA’s internet committee. He has been active in the development of Chile’s domain name policy forming part of the group that drafted the local dispute resolution. Former board member of Achipi and Assistant Secretary General of AIPPI. He studied law at Universidad Católica and was admitted to the Bar in 1994. He worked one year at the IP department of Philip Morris International, New York.
