Partner and co-head of Carey y Cia’s natural resources and environment group. His practice focus areas are mining, water rights, industrial and natural resources projects, corporations, joint ventures, contracts, real estate and land use. He is expert in power projects development and natural resources assets sales and acquisitions. He is vice-president of the Small and Mid-sized Hydro Projects Association and of the Australian Chamber of Commerce. Mr Mackenna worked at Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton, New York, from 2000 to 2001. In 1998, he acted as an assistant professor of Civil Law at Universidad Diego Portales School of Law and is currently an assistant professor of Mining Law at Universidad de Chile School of Law. Mr Mackenna studied Law at the Universidad Católica and was admitted to the Bar in 1997. He obtained a Masters (LLM) from Duke University Law School in 2000.
