Jaime Martinez T

Partner of Carey y Cía, senior member of the firm’s banking and finance group. Head of the firm’s infrastructure financing group, and president of its legal education committee.

Throughout his career, Mr Martínez has actively participated in the areas of banking and finance, project financing, corporate law and M&A. He is member of the arbitration panel of the arbitration center of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce. Prior to joining Carey, he was general counsel of Casapropia Saving and Loans Association, General Counsel of Nacional Financiera SA (Finansa) (one of the leading Chilean finance companies), General Counsel of Banco Morgan Finansa (a Chilean banking corporation half owned by JP Morgan), and member of the legal and tax committees of the Chilean Banking Association.

He studied law at Universidad Católica and was admitted to the Bar in 1966. He received the Montenegro Best Student Award as the highest-ranking student in his class.
