Salvador Valdés

Partner of Carey y Cía and co-head of its corporate, mergers and acquisitions, and capital markets group. He represents Chilean and international clients in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity, corporate and bank financing. He also regularly advises banks, financial institutions, and insurance companies in regulatory matters, securities offerings and derivatives transactions.

He has written in several specialised publications on M&A. Professor of Commercial Law at Universidad Católica and has lectured on corporate law matters at several universities. He worked from 1996 to 1997 as a foreign associate with Shearman & Sterling in New York at the project development & finance group.

Mr Valdes graduated from the Universidad Católica School of Law and was admitted to the Bar in 1993. He has a Masters (LLM) from the University of Chicago Law School (1996).
