Andrés Hoyos Ramírez

Andrés focuses his practice in M&A, private equity transactions, joint ventures, financings and securities. Andrés is an attorney from Universidad de los Andes, with a graduate diploma on Capital Markets from Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá and an LLM from University of Miami. He is admitted to practice both in Colombia and the State of New York. Andres has more than 17 years of professional experience, was an associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom LLP in New York in the Latin American practice area for more than 7 years. He later joined New York firm Cooley Godward Kronish, where he led the Latin American practice for approximately 3 years. Between 1990 and 1992 he taught legal ethics at the Universidad de los Andes. As partner, he has represented Synergy Group in the USD.$1,200 million business combination between Avianca and TACA, and Gran Tierra Energy Inc. in its USD.$512 million business combination with Solana Resources Limited.
