John W Rain

John W Rain is a partner in the finance practice group in the firm’s Dallas office. He represents capital providers and capital users in private debt or investment transactions, with an emphasis on structuring and negotiating volumetric production payments and other deals involving the combination of property or commodity sales with derivative contracts. Mr Rain represents both lenders and borrowers in bank and mezzanine loans and private placements and assists issuers of high yield debt. He also handles the transactional aspects of bankruptcies and reorganisations. He received a JD, with high honours, from the University of Texas School of Law in 1978 and a BA, with high honours, from Amherst College in 1973.
