Nicolás Herrera

Nicolás Herrera, senior partner, born in 1957, mainly concentrates on banking and finance and corporate and M&A. His vast practice includes financing in the public and private sectors, mergers and acquisitions, project financing and investment structuring, being specialist in commercial, corporate and banking law and capital markets. Former vice minister of Economy and Finance of Uruguay from 1990 to 1991 and negotiator of the Uruguayan External Debt under the Brady Plan. Former chairman and present member of the board of the Uruguayan-US Chamber of Commerce, board member of Junior Achievement, treasurer of Fulbright’s commission. Member of the executive board of CERES (Centre for Economic and Social Policy Research), member of YPO (Young Presidents? Organisation) and member of the Mont Pelerin Society. Recognised among the 100 most influential persons in Uruguay by the daily newspaper El Observador in 2008.
