Dr. Jose Miguel Morales specializes in Commercial and Mining law. Dr. Morales was member of the Commission that wrote up the Mining General Law in 1980, as well as its amendment in 1992; he has been Director of the National Committee for Foreign Investment and Technology (CONITE); Vice President and President of the National Institute of Mining, Oil and Energy Law (1986-1989); Vice President and President of the National Mining, Oil and Energy Society (2001-2004) and President of the National Association of Business Organizations of Peru - CONFIEP (2005-2007). He is, in addition, President of the Peruvian Association of Businessmen for Education, organization created by his impulse and inspiration. He is a member of Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation and he is one of the representatives of the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA); he is also Director of several mining and insurance companies. Dr. Morales has been awarded by the Peruvian Government with the Order of Labor in the degree of Great Official (2007). Dr. Morales is a lawyer graduated at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (1970), and was appointed as distinguished alumni in 2007. He followed the Sloan Program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, California (1975). He presided over the CEO SUMMIT MEETING of ABAC (APEC) 2008 that took place in Peru. Currently is the Chairman of the Gold Committee of the Peruvian Mining, Oil and Energy Society. Dr. Morales speaks fluent English and is a member of the Lima Bar Association.
