Alberto Labbé Valverde

Alberto Labbé Valverde, a partner of the Firm, has extensive professional experience, especially in the various areas of Business Law and Litigation, given his history of more than thirty years of legal practice and academic dedication.

His activity is focused primarily on advising and actively participating in corporate, litigation, commercial and insurance matters; in agreements and bankruptcies; reorganization of companies and assets, as well as in domestic and international arbitrations, both as attorney for a party and as arbitrator. He is a member of the Arbitration Body of the Center for Arbitration and Mediation of the Chamber of Commerce of Santiago (CAM Santiago), Arbitrator of Aida Chile and the National Arbitration Center; he is also a member of the panel of Arbitrators of the Ministry of Public Works.

Between 1976 and 2008 he was a member and partner at Vial y Palma Abogados. From 1982 to date has served without interruption as a professor of Commercial Law at the Faculty of Law of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile; between 2003 and 2008 he was Director of the Department of Commercial, Economic and Tax Law at the same Faculty.

He has been a lecturer, participant, and organizer of several seminars, workshops and lectures, both in the country and abroad; regularly attends Conventions, especially on Commercial Law and Arbitration matters, and annually attends the Arbitration Convention of the ICC in Miami.

He is Director of companies; Director of AIDA; Member of the Legal Committee of the National Chamber of Commerce; Member of the American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham), Member of the Chilean Bar Association.

Mr. Labbé graduated from the Pontifica Universidad Católica de Chile Faculty of Law, and was admitted to the bar in Chile in 1979.
