Michael Egge is Co-Chair of Latham’s Global Antitrust & Competition Practice Group and a Partner in the firm’s Washington D.C. office. He specializes in all manner of competition law matters in the US and elsewhere, including merger control, cartel defense, counseling and litigation. Recent successes this last year include the defense of the Live Nation/Ticketmaster merger and Nuance Communication’s acquisition of Phillips Speech Recognition Systems (in a post-closing DOJ investigation), closing of a grand jury cartel investigation without indictments, and securing amnesty for a global cartel participant.
Mr. Egge is a leader in handling multi-jurisdictional competition law matters in Latin America and elsewhere. He has nearly twenty years’ experience defending mergers and business practices in Chile, Brazil, Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, and Costa Rica and counseling compliance in several others. Mr. Egge is fluent in Spanish and serves on the governing council of the ABA’s Antitrust Section.
